And you know what really amazes me, day after day…
The amount of time people take out of their day to disrespect others and say something mean or negative to someone else. I feel like every time I scroll through social media, there’s nasty comments that are said and those comments are plain out disrespectful.
Now, to pinpoint my exact frustration, I especially cannot stand when I see people putting down other’s style or saying how they don’t like what someone is wearing. I mean, come on, who literally takes time out of their day to comment on an IG photo to say how ugly something is or how you’re sick of seeing someone wearing the same thing.
And don’t get me wrong, opinions and constructive criticism is A OK in my book and always welcome, but when it’s put in a mean or rude way, keep it to yourself.
For example, I recently saw a comment on another blogger’s IG that said “OK, we get it you like off the shoulder tops, wear something new” (or something along those lines).
I literally could not believe it. This person, that follows the blogger, is complaining about what she’s wearing. COOL, unfollow me, BYE… would have been my response in the nicest way possible.
What I want to get to is, that we all need to respect other’s style. Just because someone is wearing something you wouldn’t pick out or wear yourself, doesn’t make it “ugly” or “not cute” or “not stylish”. If your friend asks for your opinion about, say a certain jacket, and you don’t really like it yourself, remember it’s not about you. Respect their style and taste in clothes and if they like it, cheer them on to rock it out and look like a badass in it, maybe even help them style it! If you come across an IG picture of an outfit (or a picture anywhere) you aren’t crazy about, move on. I cannot comprehend how people can stop their day to write such negative things to others. Hasn’t everyone seen Bambi?!?
If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Be more positive and uplift other’s more often. Not only is it the nice and right thing to do, but you’ll be a happier person from doing it. How can you not start smiling after giving someone a compliment. You may have just made that persons day 100 times better just by saying something nice about them. Never forget that other people struggle and may be having a shitty day, so be aware of that and never think twice about making everyone around you smile. Words are powerful, use them wisely.
That’s all. Positive vibes, it’s really not hard, and way more fun.
