I have been trying out a lot of different foundations to find the best foundation because, I’m being honest here, my skin is not at its finest right now. I’ve been breaking out pretty bad for a couple years now and it has left scarring and dark spots. I also have a few wrinkles I’m insecure about, so doing my makeup seems to be getting harder and harder.
A little about my skin: I usually have pretty oily skin but I’ve recently started an acne treatment routine from my dermatologist which has dried my skin out a lot! And like I said above, I have dark spots and scarring and current acne that I need to cover up!
With all that said, I’ll give you my honest review of each of these foundations I have used, and which one I’m using now that I highly recommend!
ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR
I have used this for almost a year now and am obsessed! It literally does not move from your face until you wash it off! No joke when it claims 15 hour wear. The only reason I had to look for a new foundation is because the acne treatment is causing my skin to be really dry which doesn’t mix well with this foundation. It clings to any and all dry patches and that may not be visible from a distance, but up close, I couldn’t take it!
MAKE UP FOREVER ULTRA HD FOUNDATION
I used to wear this foundation a few years ago (pre-acne) and I thought it was amazing! The best thing to ever touch my face really. It gives such a flawless finish and I really really loved it. I just bought another bottle the other week, and it was a definite no for me! I’m not sure if they changed the formula or if it’s because my skin isn’t up to par, but this foundation didn’t cover hardly anything and would look splotchy an hour later, and then look completely gone in a few hours! I think this foundation works well for those with perfect complexions with little to cover up.
MARC JACOBS RE(MARC)ABLE FULL COVER
One word, OBSESSED! I actually got a sample of this when I bought the MUFE foundation and I’m so glad I did! You use the smallest amount it literally covers everything! I love the fluid, lightweight formula and the color matches perfectly. I found it stayed on throughout the day too, with a few powder touch ups to cover up any oily-ness. I would recommend this over and over to anyone with trouble skin! This one is a little pricey but I can see that this bottle will last me a really long time because a little goes a longgggg way.
I really love all of these choices, just for different times and how well my skin is doing. You just have to assess what you’re looking for in a foundation and try a few out! I always always love going to Sephora to get samples to try for a few days and the girls always have great recommendations! What’s your fave foundations? Do you switch it up according to what your skin is going through?
